The 40th annual Ozark Fall Farmfest in Springfield, Missouri, drew farm and ranch enthusiasts from all over the Four States last weekend.
“This year’s show was the largest ever with over 1,000 indoor and outdoor exhibits and over 500 head of livestock on display.”
Hundreds of agricultural exhibits and rural living displays covered nearly every square inch of the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds during the three-day event. Farmers and ranchers also had numerous breeds of cattle, sheep, goats, hogs, horses, donkeys and rabbits available for the crowds to view and purchase in the livestock barns.
Famed dog trainer Danny Shilling of Bois D’Arc, Missouri, showcased the talents of his Border Collies with demonstrations of dog handling and livestock working for standing-room only crowds in the Wells Arena.
“A huge thank you is in order to Farmfest visitors, vendors and personnel as the show continues to be one of the best agricultural trade shows in the Midwest,” Markley added.
At the Farm Talk Newspaper booths in the E-Plex and Corwin Arena, visitors could enter to win a $1,000 Shopping Spree. This year’s winner was Shawn Skopec of Strafford, Missouri, who plans to spend his winnings at Race Brothers in Springfield.
Kids were invited to participate in their own drawing for $25. Gracey Singenfelter of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, was the lucky winner.
Although the show is barely over, Farm Talk is already making preparations for its 2020 farm shows — next year’s Ozark Fall Farmfest will be held Oct. 2, 3 and 4 and exciting new details about the Four State Farm Show will be announced soon.
