The 39th edition of the Ozark Fall Farmfest in Springfield, Missouri, has concluded after drawing farm and ranch enthusiasts from all over the Four State area.

“With a threat of rain that never materialized, the crowd turned out in droves to view over 925 booths, the most ever,” said Lance Markley, Ozark Fall Farmfest coordinator. “I would call Friday and Saturday record attendance and Sunday very solid. Many exhibitors reported strong interest or brisk sales.”

He estimated over 60,000 people attended this year’s event at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds.

Famed dog trainer Danny Shilling of Bois D’Arc, Missouri, showcased the talents of his Border Collies with demonstrations of dog handling and livestock working for standing-room only crowds in the Wells Arena.

“All in all, the 2018 show was a huge success,” Markley added.

At the Farm Talk Newspaper booths in the E-Plex and Corwin Arena, visitors could enter to win a $1,000 Shopping Spree. This year’s winner was Brad Leonard of Seymour, Missouri.

In the Darr-Wheeler Metals Building, there was another opportunity to win. The winner of the $500 Shopping Spree was Austin Clement of Conway, Missouri.

Kids were invited to participate in their own drawing for $25. Kinze Bennett of Bronaugh, Missouri, was the lucky winner.

Although Farmfest just concluded, Farm Talk is already making preparations for its 2019 farm shows — the Four State Farm Show to be held May 3, 4 & 5 and the Ozark Fall Farmfest on Oct. 4, 5 & 6.
